Frequently Asked Questions:

Are you accepting new clients?

While I typically carry a full caseload, my schedule often changes. As such, please reach out and I will let you know if I have openings.

Do you accept insurance?

I am paneled on Wellfleet, the NYU student insurance. If you have this insurance, you are responsible for the co-insurance amount at the end of each session.

I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurances. Please note that my full fee will be collected at the time of service and you are responsible for being reimbursed by the insurance company. I am happy to assist you with the claim submission process.

Do you offer virtual and/or in-person therapy?

At this time, I am accepting new clients for in-person therapy only. We may meet virtually on occasion, but all new clients are primarily seen in-person. As such, I am not currently accepting new clients who reside in NY or other non-IL based locations.

Where did you complete your training?

I have a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School. I completed externships at Gateway Foundation; Mt. Sinai Over the Rainbow; University of Chicago SCS; Pace University Counseling Center; and New York University SHC. In addition, I am Gottman Level 3 trained and a Gottman 7 Principles Workshop Leader.

What is your theoretical orientation?

For individual therapy, I primarily practice from a psychodynamic relational model. For couples therapy, I primarily practice using the Gottman Method theory and technique. For group therapy, I primarily practice from a Yalom-based process group model. Additionally, I am eclectic in my clinical approach and incorporate any of the following theories and techniques depending my client’s clinical needs: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; mindfulness based approaches; neuropsychology (with a Mindsight Institute lens); Internal Family Systems; and Attachment Theory. I also pay close attention to existential themes; identity formation, integration, and intersectionality; and trauma.

Do you speak other languages?

Yes. I am fluent in Spanish and able to provide therapy in Spanish. While many of my bilingual Spanish speaking clients prefer to speak English in therapy, it can be helpful to switch to Spanish when it is the pertinent language of the content being discussed. For that reason, it can be helpful to have a bilingual therapist who can understand both languages.
